Level 3 Signs Broadband Services Contract with the University of Washington

University of Washington to Use Level 3 IP Service to Provide Internet Connectivity for Students and Faculty

BROOMFIELD, CO - November 30, 2001 -- Level 3 Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:LVLT) today announced it has signed a one year agreement to provide (3)CrossRoads Internet access service to the University of Washington.

Under the terms of the agreement, the University of Washington will use Level 3's (3)CrossRoads Internet access service to provide connections to the public Internet and other networks for students, faculty, researchers, medical professionals, and leading edge technologists throughout the Pacific Northwest.
